Scott Nygard has played with various groups and performers including Dick Contino, Rip Taylor, Debbie Reynolds, Kenny Rogers, Danny Marona, Chris Calloway, Ernie Shelton, Mitch Woods, and the Reno Jazz Orchestra. Scott recently played principal trumpet for the musical Evita. He currently plays lead trumpet with the Santa Rosa Junior College Evening Jazz Ensemble and has performed with the SRJC Faculty Jazz Ensemble as a guest artist. Scott studied with internationally known trumpet teacher Claude Gordon, and credits his longtime friendship with master trumpet player Michael Whitwell with influencing his approach to playing trumpet.
